Customs officials in Saudi Arabia have foiled an attempt to smuggle large quantities of captagon pills.

According to the Arab News Agency, customs officials say they have stopped the smuggling of more than 1.7 million narcotic Captagon pills. Five people involved in the incident have also been arrested.

The report of the news agency said, the drug was seized at the port of Al-Jawf in Riyadh while the remaining amount was seized in two separate operations on the land route of Al-Haditha.

In all these attempts, the people responsible for the smuggling had hidden the drugs inside the transport trucks in a very technical way.

According to officials, the General Director of Anti-Narcotics was involved in all the smuggling efforts.
