The Turkish Coast Guard has rescued at least 26 refugees on a boat in the Aegean Sea on Thursday (May 7).

According to the details, the boat was carrying Syrian nationals, including children and women.

The sources said that they were pushed into Turkish waters by the Greek side.

They have been transferred to the provincial immigration authority after the asylum seekers were rescued off the coast of Turkey’s Mugla province.

After the Syria’s civil war started in 2011, Turkey has been one of the main ways for asylum seekers wanting to reach Europe.

It is to be noted that Turkey hosts Syrian refugees more than any other country in the world and the number is about 3.7 million.

Turkey prohibits to visit care homes on Mother’s Day, Eid

Earlier, They Labor, Social Services and Family of Turkey announced on Friday that visitors will not be allowed in retirement and nursing homes across the country on Mother’s Day on during Eid also.

According to the statement, the ministry said that the visitors will not be allowed in nursing homes, disability care centers and rehabilitation centers on Mother’s day and Eid.

The decision was taken to control the spread of coronavirus as the novel coronavirus continues to affect thousands of people specially aged across the planet.
