COAS inaugurates PET-CT facility at AFIRI

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has inaugurated the Positron Emission Tomography – Computed Tomography (PET-CT) & Cyclotron System and Biplane Angiography System at Rawalpindi’s Armed Forces Institute of Radiology & Imaging (AFIRI) today.

On arrival, COAS was received by Lieutenant General Muhammad Amir. Adjutant General & Lieutenant General Khawar Rahman, Surgeon General.

COAS said that AFIRI being a state-of-the-art facility is providing high-quality medical services to people of Pakistan. Acknowledging untiring services and sacrifices of medical staff all over the country he said, that the Army Medical Corps will continue to serve the nation through professional excellence and inspiring leadership.

The PET-CT facility will enable timely treatment of stroke and paralysis patients. The Army Chief also inaugurated the biplane angiography system which will be useful for heart disease and neurology.
