Cricket Australia has called this year’s T20 World Cup plan “unrealistic”.

Chairman of Cricket Australia, Earl Eddings has described the holding of the scheduled T20 World Cup in Australia this year as “unrealistic” due to the global coronavirus.

Earl Eddings says the scheduled World Cup in Australia in October-November could be postponed for a year. Cricket Australia has offered the International Cricket Council (ICC) a number of options.

The chairman of Cricket Australia said that although this year’s scheduled T20 World Cup has not been officially postponed yet, possible efforts are being made to bring people from 16 countries to Australia.

“Most of these 16 countries are still infected with the coronavirus, so I think it’s unrealistic and it would be better to postpone it,” he said.

It should be noted that this tournament is scheduled from October 18 to November 15 in Australia.

Earlier, Cricket Australia has asked the International Cricket Council to postpone the T20 World Cup by a year due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Reports said that the request was made in a letter by Cricket Australia chairman Earl Eddings to the ICC, which was leaked to media.
