ECC approves to give Golden Handshake to Pakistan Steel employees

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has given in-principle approval to give Golden Handshake to 9100 employees of Pakistan Steel Mills.

A meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Finance Advisor Hafeez Sheikh.

According to the details, in the meeting, the ECC gave in-principle approval to give Golden Handshake to 9100 employees of Pakistan Steel Mills and it was decided that all dues would be paid immediately to the employees who were given Golden Handshake.

The decision to give Golden Handshake to the employees of Steel Mills will be approved by the Supreme Court, while the Supreme Court Karachi Registry has already given a decision in this regard.

The Economic Co-ordination Committee has decided in principle to retain the employees of Steel Mills, while the Ministry of Finance will provide Rs 20 billion to the retired employees to pay their dues.

During the meeting, the ECC also approved supplementary grants for various departments.

The ECC has approved a technical grant of Rs 8.84 billion for Western Border Management, which will be spent on improving the capabilities of the Civil Armed Forces.

In addition, a technical grant of Rs. 200 million was also approved for the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
