The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has canceled a training camp ahead of a tour of England due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The PCB spokesperson said, in view of the Coronavirus situation in Pakistan in the coming weeks, it is estimated that providing logistical and operational issues to provide a safe environment for the players will be a challenge.

Therefore, the Pakistan Cricket Board has decided not to hold a training camp before the national cricket team leaves for England.

The statement said, “The PCB is already in discussions with the England Cricket Board (ECB) to bring forward their early July departure date for England so the Pakistan squad can benefit from the additional practice time there.”

In addition, coronavirus testing of players and support staff, gathering in Lahore before departure to England, and the team’s training and match schedule in England will be announced soon.

The PCB has reminded the players that they should not train in cricket grounds in the current situation and they should strictly follow the protocols of social distance. These guidelines are for the betterment of them and their family.

Earlier, National fast bowler Hassan Ali is facing financial difficulties and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced financial support for Hassan Ali.

PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan termed Hassan Ali as an asset of Pakistan cricket and said in his statement that the fast bowler needs the board. It is the responsibility of PCB to support in these situations.
