PM Imran chairs meeting to review development projects in tribal areas

Prime Minister PM Imran Khan on Monday chaired a level meeting in the federal capital Islamabad, that reviewed development projects in tribal districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to Information Minister Senator Shibli Faraz, Prime Minister Imran Khan, in the meeting emphasized that the people of the tribal districts are very dear to him and he wants early implementation of the development projects there.

Shibli Faraz said the federal government has issued its share of funds determined in the agreement of 2018.

Information Minister said a committee formed under the chairmanship of the Adviser on Finance to coordinate with the provinces and ensure availability of funds.

Furthermore Shibli Faraz expressed hope that all these projects in the merged districts will begin in the next financial year.

Minister for Planning Asad Umar, Adviser on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Special Assistant Dr. Shahbaz Gil and senior officials. KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, KP Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra and Punjab Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht also attended the meeting.
