Prime Minister Imran Khan praised his team for being among the first to impose ‘smart lockdown’ across Pakistan.

The prime minister shared a link of the article of  Bloomberg and wrote, “My team was amongst the first to enforce smart lockdowns.”

Imran Khan wrote on Twitter, “My team was amongst the first to enforce smart lockdowns. I am proud of it for helping me continue to navigate our country through the Covid19 crisis. InshaAllah, from now onwards if we follow SOPs we will see off the worst of this crisis.”

The article said that European Union countries are experimenting with new ways of dealing with the coronavirus. Germany, Portugal and Italy have all enforced selective or “smart” lockdowns.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan,  Zulfi Bukhari wrote on Twitter, “4 months into fighting COVID &world is realising Smart Lockdowns are the ONLY WAY.”

Bukhari added, “US/EU already adopting it for its sustainable benefits Due credit goes to PM & all NCOC stockholders for wise leadership from day one.”

“Had it been any other gov today,can’t even imagine disaster it would’ve been,” the special assistant said.

Earlier, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Information and Chairman Pak-China Economic Corridor Lieutenant General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa has said that the key to tackling the epidemic is implementation of smart lockdown and SOPs.

In his message on twitter, Asim Saleem Bajwa wrote, “Balancing life & livelihood has been prime focus since start of the disease spread.Key to fighting this pandemic has been to contain disease through smart lockdown downs&adherence to SOPs. Our nation adapted/shown remarkable improvement in wearing masks/social distancing.”
