Punjab govt decides to tighten lockdown in Lahore

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has said that Punjab has abundant wheat reserves.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar in which the stability of wheat and flour prices was reviewed while various proposals regarding release of wheat to flour mills were considered.

The meeting decided to seek approval from the Punjab Cabinet to release wheat and fix the price.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said that Punjab government has ample reserves of wheat and would take all possible steps to stabilize the price of wheat in the market.

He said that the decision would be taken after reviewing all possible options for stabilizing the price of flour while the Punjab government has purchased record wheat during the current season.

Earlier, the Punjab Chief Minister had said in a statement that resolving the economic woes of the common man was one of our top priorities.

He said that measures have been proposed in the Punjab budget for the protection of the weaker sections and relief has been provided to the common man through a comprehensive plan.

He said that tax relief of Rs. 56 billion has not been given by any government before, tax relief will boost business activities.

He said that the work of the opposition was left only for criticism, the former rulers protected only personal interests, in the past the people of the province were entertained with empty slogans.
