WASHINGTON: Two people were killed and six others were missing when two planes collided mid-air in northwestern U.S. state Idaho.

According to the details, two people were killed when two planes collided in Idaho while the other six missings, persons are feared to have died.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened at 2:20 a.m. local time on lake Coeur d’Alene, where the plane crashed into the lake and sank.

Police officials said two bodies had been recovered from the scene while the remaining six people were still missing and were feared dead. According to initial reports, a total of eight people, including crew, were on board the two planes.

According to police, a rescue operation is underway to find the six missing persons in the accident.
