Pakistan Railways has announced closure of Shalimar Express.

According to the spokesperson of Pakistan Railways, the administration has decided to close Shalimar Express, the notification of which will be issued tomorrow.

It should be noted that Pakistan Railways has announced to close Shalimar train from July 15.

He said that the reason for closure of Shalimar Express was that Shalimar Express was running between Karachi and Lahore which was being closed due to running in deficit.

Besides, Shalimar Express reaches Lahore from Karachi via Rohri, Bahawalpur and Multan and Faisalabad.

Earlier, The Shalimar Express from Karachi to Lahore collided with a freight train at Jhetha Bhutta station of Rahim Yar Khan due to which the movement of trains on the up and down track was suspended.

According to DS Railway Shoaib Adil, the accident took place due to not changing the fork and a Shalimar train collided with a freight train coming from the opposite direction.
