KARACHI: The Sindh government has extended lockdown across the province for 15 days due to continuous increase in coronavirus cases.

According to the details, the Sindh government has extended the lockdown for 15 days to curb the spread of the coronavirus. A notification issued by the Sindh Home Department said that the lockdown will remain in the province till July 15.

Sindh Home Department stated that under the lockdown restrictions, educational institutions will remain closed, business centres will be able to remain open till 7 pm while transportation to public and recreational places will remain restricted.

An order issued by the Home Department said that wedding halls, educational institutions and restaurants would remain closed and home delivery would continue till 11 pm.

Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had said that 2139 more cases of coronavirus were reported in Sindh during the last 24 hours and 29 patients died.

In Sindh, the number of deaths due to corona has risen to 1406. At present, 36803 patients are undergoing treatment. Among the patients undergoing treatment, 35131 are in homes and 158 in isolation centres. At present, 1514 patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals.
