KARACHI: K Electric CEO Monis Alvi while giving a briefing to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that there is 4 feet of standing water in the areas and how can we restore electricity.

According to details, power has been suspended in the city for the third day today and citizens are suffering from rainwater as well as lack of electricity. In this regard, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah reached the office of K Electric and took a briefing from Monis Alvi.

The Chief Minister said that what kind of service is this in which power has been suspending for 35 hours, power has not been restored in most parts of the city including Defense, Clifton, People have started protesting because of the absence of electricity.

The CEO of K Electric told him in a briefing that 1615 feeders out of 1900 are working, however, due to accumulation of water in the city areas, restoration of electricity is not possible, Khayaban Shahbaz and Rahat are submerged on which the Chief Minister of Sindh said that he called the MD Water Board and asked them to start de-watering immediately.

Later, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah visited the city, inspected the drainage of rainwater in different areas and gave orders. He directed to clean it up to Sailani, expressing anger over non-drainage of water on Khaliq-ul-Zaman Road.
