Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi had made a huge mistake on August 5 last year.

Addressing Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Imran Khan said Pakistan will support Kashmiris till they achieve their goal of right to self-determination.

Prime Minister said Narendra Modi was afraid to revoke Article 370 of the Indian constitution earlier but after his Hindutva extremist base won him the elections, the Indian prime minister took the step.

“His assumption was that Pakistan would stay silent as we were trying for friendship with India,” he said.

“When India was using pellet guns in Kashmir, before our government, no one was talking about it. Neither was Pakistan doing anything and neither did the UN,” he added.

PM Imran said that the main motivation behind India’s move was pride. He said that the world would back India and stay silent as the west wanted to use India as a counterforce to China.

Imran Khan said We had offered to negotiate a solution to the Kashmir issue, this matter put in front of the international community.

He criticized Modi for the massacre in Gujarat, PM Imran said that Modi could not go to western countries such as the UK and US as he was banned due to his extremist actions.

“No one can become a leader like this, after committing the massacre of thousands of Muslims,” he said, adding that Modi’s actions in occupied Kashmir had attracted the world’s attention towards it.
