The Embassy of Pakistan Ankara organized an event today to observe Youm-e-Istehsal as a show of solidarity with the oppressed people of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Pakistan community members, Kashmiris living in Ankara as well as media representatives attended the event.

Messages of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out on the occasion. Pakistani leadership in their messages termed Indian atrocities in IIOJK as a crime against humanity that had destroyed lives, crippled livelihoods, and imperiled the very identity of the people of IIOJK. Both President and Prime Minister reiterated the call on the international community to back its words of condemnation with practical steps that would force India to reverse its present course against the Kashmiri people. Pakistani leadership reaffirmed its steadfast support to the people of Kashmir until they realize their inalienable right to self-determination through free and impartial plebiscite under the auspices of the United Nations as per the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkey Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi in his remarks reiterated the message of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, conveyed Pakistan’s abiding support for the people of IIOJK and their just struggle.

The Ambassador thanked the Turkish nation and leadership for their unwavering support for the just resolution of the Jammu & Kashmir dispute and welcomed the statement made by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 5thAugust 2020 in this regard.

Ambassador Qazi also commended the statement by Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights Inquiry Mr. Hakan Çavuşoğlu who expressed concern at the gross human rights violations in IIOJK. He also appreciated statement by Mr. Ali Şahin, Chairman of Turkey-Pakistan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group in Turkish Parliament expressing strong solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
