PTA approaches YouTube again to block vulgar, indecent content

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has approached YouTube on Wednesday once again to delete and block vulgar and indecent content immediately from the site.

PTA has announced the news on its official Twitter account stating that,

PTA has once again approached @YouTube to immediately block vulgar, indecent, immoral, nude, and hate speech content for viewing in Pakistan.”

It should be mentioned here that on Tuesday, PTA had blocked five datings and live streaming applications in Pakistan – Tinder, Tagged, Scout, Grinder, and SayHi.

PTA said in the notification, “In view of negative effects of immoral/indecent content streaming through above applications, PTA issued notices to the management of the above-mentioned platforms for the purpose of removing dating services & moderate live streaming content in accordance with local laws of Pakistan.”

The notification further said, “Since the platforms did not respond to the notices within the stipulated time, therefore, the Authority issued orders for blocking of the said applications.”
