Turkey has called Bahrain’s decision to normalize relations with Israel another blow to Palestine.

A statement issued by the Foreign Ministry in Ankara expressed concern over the development.

According to Turkey, the decision violates internationally recognized agreements.

Iran has also criticized Bahrain’s decision. The Iranian Foreign Ministry statement said that Bahrain’s top leadership is now a partner with the state of Israel in their crimes, which threatens the security of the entire region and Islam.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and the Gulf state of Bahrain have signed a deal to fully normalize their relations.

“The second Arab country to make peace with Israel in 30 days,” he tweeted.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared his thoughts that he was “excited” that “another peace agreement” had been reached with another Arab country on Friday.

“This is a new era of peace. Peace for peace. Economy for the economy. We have invested in peace for many years and now peace will invest in us,” he said.

“Another historic breakthrough today!” Trump wrote on Twitter, adding: “Our two GREAT friends Israel and the Kingdom of Bahrain agree to a Peace Deal.”
