Schools to reopen in first week of January

The government of Kerala, India has announced to reopen educational institutions, including schools, across the states in the first week of January next year.
According to the official announcement, the authorities have allowed 50 percent of students to attend the schools. Moreover, only 25 percent of students will be allowed to attend the classes at a time if the student strength exceeds 300. One student will be allowed to sit on a bench.
On the school premises, students will be asked to maintain a distance of 2 meters from one another. Authorities have also asked the school management to display bold markings in an area where drinking water is available, hands are washed, and in restrooms.
Apart from that, schools will be asked to make a Covid-19 cell, chaired by the principal or headmaster. Health camps will also be made whenever needed.
Furthermore, thermal screening of all students, teachers, and staff members will be made mandatory. The use of masks will also be made compulsory.
