Prime Minister Imran Khan said that 60% of the population is involved in agriculture so the development of this sector and its modernization is the utmost priority of the government.

According to details, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan on increasing the capacity of agricultural production in Punjab and value chain. The Prime Minister was also briefed on the proposals for promotion while the Prime Minister was also briefed on the issuance of farmer cards for financial assistance to farmers.

Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the Punjab government to formulate a separate and comprehensive action plan for the value chain of each agricultural product to improve the efficiency and quality of agricultural produce.

Imran Khan directed that 60% of the population is engaged in agriculture, so the development of this sector and its modernization is the first priority of the government.

The Prime Minister directed to focus on the value addition of agricultural produce besides addressing the basic food security issues of the agriculture sector and called for a comprehensive strategy with a complete timeline to triple the existing capacity Can be eaten

Imran Khan directed for complete reforms in the agriculture sector to run all related sectors including livestock, agricultural production, fisheries in a modern and corporate manner.

In this regard, Prime Minister Imran Khan assured the support of the Federal Government to the Punjab Government for the immediate redressal and solution of all the issues facing the agricultural sector.

The meeting was attended by Federal Ministers Muhammad Hamad Azhar, Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Ahmed Buzdar, Provincial Ministers Syed Hussain Gardezi, Muhammad Sibtain Khan, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and other senior officials.
