LNG agreement reached between Pakistan and Qatar. Qatar will supply 3 million tons of LNG to Pakistan for ten years.

According to details, an LNG agreement ceremony was held between Pakistan and Qatar. Energy Minister Omar Ayub and Qatar’s Energy Minister signed the agreement. Prime Minister Imran Khan was also present at the signing ceremony.

Under the agreement, Pakistan will import 1.2 to 4 LNG cargo per month from Qatar.

The agreement reached between Pakistan Energy Limited and Qatar Gas has been under discussion since 2019.

Prime Minister Imran Khan also confirmed the LNG agreement with Qatar and said that he had been trying to reach an agreement with Qatar for the last one year.

Today, a new LNG agreement has been signed with Qatar. The LNG agreement will save $300 million annually.

Later, Special Assistant for Petroleum Nadeem Babar while addressing a press conference in Islamabad said that the agreement will usher in a new era of bilateral relations and open up new avenues for economic cooperation.

The most beneficial LNG deal with Qatar was reached under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the discussion is also underway for the acquisition of LPG and petrochemicals from Qatar, he added.

On the occasion, Qatari energy minister Saad al Kaabi said that the agreement between Pakistan and Qatar on LNG was historic and further cooperation in various fields for mutual benefit would be promoted.
