Hritik Roshan recorded his statement with the Crime Intelligence Unit in Mumbai on Saturday in wake of the complaint about fake emails in his name to Kangana Ranaut in 2016.

Hritik’s lawyer had approached the Mumbai police in December 2020 regarding the investigation. The official informed that it was transferred to the Crime Branch’s CIU.

According to the local news source, Roshan had filed a complaint in 2016 in which he alleged that someone was sending emails to Ranaut from a bogus email ID by using his name. However, the ‘Queen’ actress claimed that the same email ID was given by Roshan to her and they both have been communicating through the same id till 2014.

Kangana Ranaut had earlier called Roshan her “silly ex”. She had written on Friday, “Duniya kahan se kahan pahunch gayi magar mera silly ex abhi bhi waheen hai usi modh pe jahan yeh waqt dobara laut ke nahi jane wala … (World has changed so much but my silly ex is still stuck in the same time, which will never come back.)”

‘Kaho na pyar hai’ actor had sent a legal notice to Ranaut after she called him silly ex. He also denied having any relationship with her. Moreover, he alleged that she had been sending him absurd emails. Roshan’s laptop was taken by the Cyber Cell for probe and the case was transferred to Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) upon the request of Roshan’s lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani.
