Federal Minister for water resources Faisal Vawda has approached Sindh High Court (SHC) to seek an immediate restraining order against the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

As per the details, he has sought the order over the disqualification case against him in the ECP. SHC has approved Vawda’s petition.

Faisal Vawda has claimed that ECP has rejected his request against the facts. He has challenged ECP’s decision taken on Feb 24.

Vawda said, “The ECP was not authorized to hear complaints against me,” “My objection was turned down by the ECP.”

On the other hand, ECP is three complaints on the dual nationality of Faisal Vawda.

Barrister Jahangir Khan Jadoon had claimed that Vawda lied in the June 11, 2018 affidavit he gave to ECP ahead of elections. Jadoon alleged that Vawda lied that he had given up his dual nationality.

He said that Vawda was an American national at that time but he fibbed in the affidavit. He also said that the US citizenship even when his nomination papers were being scrutinized.
