Russian federation registers world’s first covid-19 vaccine for animals

Russian Federation has become the first country to introduce the coronavirus vaccine for animals.

As per reports, the production of the bulk amount of the vaccination will start from April.

The agriculture oversight agency Rosselkhoznadzor said in a statement that,

“The vaccine called Carnivak-Cov had been tested since October on dogs, cats, mink, foxes and other animals and was proven to be effective.”

He further said,

“All test animals that were vaccinated developed antibodies to coronavirus in 100 percent of cases,”

“It is the world’s first and only product for preventing Covid-19 in animals,”

“The use of the vaccine, according to Russian scientists, can prevent the development of virus mutations.”

Earlier, Russia’s Sputnik V covid-19 vaccine gets approval from the European drug regulator, it will be used across the 27 states of Europe.

The Russian Federation said they were ready to provide injections for 50 million Europeans as soon as they get the green light from the Amsterdam-based European Medicines Agency (EMA).

The clinical tests and lab authentication have indicated that Sputnik V activates the production of antibodies and immune cells” that can protect against Covid-19.

The developers of the Sputnik V vaccine said in a statement that,

“The start of the rolling review was a “major step for (the) vaccine’s approval for use in the EU.”

“Following EMA approval, we would be able to supply vaccines for 50 million Europeans starting from June 2021,” said Kirill Dmitriyev, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).
