English Bowler Harry Gurney has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket after a long-term shoulder injury. Gurney suffered an injury last year that forced him to lose the successful T20 Blast campaign in Nottinghamshire and IPL to Kolkata Knight Riders. As he did not fully recover from the injury, the 34-year-old gave up.

“It’s time to close my boots,” he said. “After trying to recover from a recent shoulder injury, I am very disappointed that I have to end my playing career because of this. From the first time I took a cricket ball at the age of ten, I was Cricket has been my life for 24 years and has taken me on an incredible journey that I will cherish forever.
