Cotton support price to raise output: minister

ISLAMABAD: The minimum support price of cotton would increase the production and bring stability in the market, a senior government official said.

Chairing the meeting for cotton intervention price, Federal Minister for National Food Security Syed Fakhar Imam said that the incumbent government was resolutely committed to support the cotton farmers in the country, as the commodity’s production was on the decline over the last few years.

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood and senior officials of the ministry also attended the meeting.
