UNICEF Afghanistan warns that ten million children in Afghanistan are in desperate need of humanitarian support.

The G7 countries have asked the Taliban to assure that the Afghans’ safe passage will be provided after August 31.

David Beasley, executive director of WFP said 14 million people – one-third of the Afghan population are facing food uncertainty “because of several years of drought, conflict, and economic deterioration, compounded by COVID”.

The aid to Afghanistan is suspended by the World Bank, freezing hundreds of millions in funding.
