5.1-magnitude quake hits waters off China’s Taiwan

BEIJING: A 5.1-magnitude earthquake jolted the waters off Hualien County in China’s Taiwan at 7:12 p.m. Friday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The epicenter was monitored at 23.15 degrees north latitude and 121.31 degrees east longitude. The earthquake struck at a depth of 10 km, the center said.–Xinhua
