Afghan crisis: Afghan military plane crashed in Uzbekistan

The Central Asian country’s defense ministry stated that an Afghan military plane has crashed inside Uzbekistan on Monday, indorsing earlier reports.

Ministry’s spokesman Bakhrom Zulfikarov stated that “The military plane illegally crossed the border of Uzbekistan. An investigation is underway”.

Further confirming Uzbek media rumors of a crash occurred on late Sunday in Uzbekistan’s southern province of Surkhondaryo, which has a border with Afghanistan.

According to a report cited by a Private news agency, the jet collided late on Sunday in Uzbekistan’s southernmost Surxondaryo province contiguous to Afghanistan.

Furthermore, photographs were published of medics attending to a man in an air force uniform.

A source has also claimed that two Afghan military servicemen that were traveling on the plane were hospitalized in the provincial capital.
