The Taliban have guaranteed Pakistan that they will not allow the Afghan land to be used by the barred Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), stated Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed.

Sheikh Rasheed while addressing the media stated that some components do not want Pakistan to go ahead with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

He further claimed that as the condition in Afghanistan has made it more significant and schemes are emerged against the success of the CPEC.

“Some elements do not want Pakistan to move forward with the CPEC but Imran Khan’s government is determined to make it successful,” he said.

Rasheed claimed that on-arrival visas from Afghanistan and one-month visas to diplomats are granted, while no final verdict has been taken yet regarding Afghan migrants situation so far.

“There is no pressure on Pakistan regarding the Afghan refugees at the moment,” he said.

“The Chaman and Torkham borders are open for trade, while 853 people have entered Pakistan through Torkham,” stated Rasheed.

Pakistan wants peace and stability in Afghanistan, stated the interior minister.

“We, together with the international community, want peace in Afghanistan. However, everyone’s focus is on the Kabul Airport right now.”

Sheikh Rasheed further added that the Taliban have guaranteed him that the Afghan region would not be permitted to be used by the barred TTP.

The Opposition parties are unusable as they have been doing nothing but holding rallies for the last three years with no results, said Rasheed while answering a question about the Opposition.

“However, Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s politics might get a boost because of the situation in Afghanistan,” Rasheed said.
