Former West Indies captain Daren Sammy believes that Babar Azam’s captaincy will be crucial for Pakistan in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.

During the digital show for mega-event, Sammy said that Babar as a batsman is very successful. However, his decision-making skills during fielding will be the most important thing to observe.

“Babar’s leadership will be important for Pakistan in T20 World Cup. We all know, how class he is as a batsman but if he makes some sound decisions from a captaincy point-of-view because of the bowlers he has, if he can rotate them, Pakistan will be a force to reckon,” Sammy said.

Pakistan will play matches in Group 2 of the Super12. Other teams in Group 2 are India, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and two other teams that will qualify from Round 1.

Pakistan will be playing their first match of the tournament against their arch-rivals India on October 24.
