LONDON: china’s ambassador to Britain called for closer ties between the two countries’ military here on Sunday, which marked the 94th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Liberation Army.

In a video speech, Ambassador Zheng Zeguang hailed the People’s Liberation Army as “a force of the people, a force of valor, and a force for peace.” “It is our hope our two militaries could strengthen dialogue and communication, and increase exchanges and mutual trust,” he said, noting that military ties have long been an important component of China-Britain relations.
