TEHRAN: Iran’s army on Tuesday tested the Mersad-16 missile defence system, Tasnim news agency reported.

During the test carried out in Iran’s central desert area, Mersad-16 detected and destroyed the targets, according to the report.

High agility and maneuverability are among the features of the updated home-grown missile system, which can detect and act against targets at any altitude, the report added.
