KARACHI: A biometric verification facility for the Pakistan Single Window (PSW) has been inaugurated at the Karachi Customs Agents Association (KCAA) to facilitate Customs agents and importers/exporters to register at the PSW portal, a statement said on Monday.

The KCAA said the association was first to launch such an important facility where the Customs agents and their clients (importers and exporters) can have biometric verification required for registration, in the PSW portal.

Director General, Directorate General of Reforms and Automation (Weboc Project) Wajid Ali has inaugurated Nadra’s e-Sahulat Counter at the KCAA Head Office.

Ali said that the Pakistan Single Window facility would reduce time, cost and complexity, while improving the quality of experience for all the stakeholders to ensure the ease of doing business, besides supporting the government agencies in adopting an integrated risk management approach for efficient enforcement of cross-border trade-related controls.

He also said the implementation of PSW will enable Pakistan to achieve compliance with the WTO’s Trade Facilitation Agreement, besides helping to unlock its potential in becoming a hub for trade.

KCAA president Wasiq Hussain Khan said that the PSW was undoubtedly a mega transformation to facilitate trade. The KCAA has the honour to launch a help desk for PSW where members (Customs agents) and business community will be facilitated.

On the occasion, KCAA general secretary Mehmood ul Hasan Awan also advised the participants to disseminate information about the availability of Nadra’s e-Sahulat facility for PSW at the KCAA among all the members so that maximum number of people could benefit from this facility.
