Oman lifts travel restrictions from Pakistan and other countries

MUSCAT: The Omani Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said on Monday that the travel restrictions for fully vaccinated travelers from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and other 18 countries previously placed on the red-list has been lifted.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Oman has released a circular stating that beginning September 1, all persons who are entitled to visit Oman, including citizens of Oman, resident visa holders, and visa on arrival applicants, will be able to do so under new conditions.

Oman has lifted a travel ban on travelers from Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Philippines, Tanzania, Sudan, Brazil, Sierra Leone, UK, Tunisia, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Brunei, Singapore, Indonesia, Ethiopia, South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Guinea, Colombia and Argentina.

All travelers coming in Oman must show a COVID-19 vaccine certificate with a QR code indicating that they have received two doses of an Oman-approved vaccine.

For long-haul flights, the PCR test should have been conducted 96 hours prior to the scheduled time of flights (8 hours or more). For short haul flights the PCR test should have been taken 72 hours before the flight.

According to a circular, the last dose must have been received not less than 14 days ahead of the scheduled time of arrival.

The Twitter account of Omani CAA also sent out a tweet ordering the “termination of the list of countries” from where arrivals were permitted.

The new instructions issued by the CAA of Oman will take effect on September 1st.
