A Louisiana family inspecting the devastation caused by Hurricane Ida discovered a shocking new neighbor swimming in the floodwaters: a dolphin.

Amanda Huling said she first noticed the dolphin swimming in her Slidell neighborhood’s floodwaters on Monday.

The dolphin was still swimming around the neighborhood on Tuesday, according to her.

Huling said she’s been in contact with a rescue group, which plans to try to relocate the dolphin if it doesn’t make its way out of the flooded area within the next two days.
