A Swiss package delivery vehicle set a new Guinness World Record for the most distance traveled by an electric truck on a single charge, covering approximately 683 miles.

The DPD Switzerland delivery vehicle, which has been in service for around six months, was driven 682.88 miles without stopping for charging.

According to Guinness World Records, the voyage set a record for the longest distance traveled by an electric rigid truck on a single charge.

The Futuricum truck was built by Designwerk Products AG, and the attempt was made at Continental Suisse SA’s in-house test facility in Hanover. Continental’s EfficientPro tires, which are engineered for reduced rolling resistance, were installed on the vehicle.

During the 23-hour journey, two drivers alternated shifts, competing in 392 laps around Continental’s track.
