Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis resigned from their post after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) failed to address their reservations.

As per the sources, suggestions given by Misbah and Waqar for the selection of the Twenty20 squad were ignored by the PCB.

PCB was not satisfied by their performances and decided to remove them after the Twenty20 World Cup, so they resigned before the mega event.

Abdul Razzaq and Saqlain Mushtaq have been appointed as temporary coaches for this series.

PCB will announce the new permanent head coach in due course.

Pakistan team will play three ODIs and five Twenty20 against New Zealand at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore from 17th September.

Later on, Pakistan will play two home Tewnty20 against England before going for the Twenty20 World Cup.
