There have been several rumors about MediaTek (MTK) working on 4nm mobile chips and some believe that the Chinese company will be the first to release an SoC based on the 4nm node.

The rumor is now confirmed by the two Weibo tipsters.

The upcoming MTK Dimensity 2000 chipset is believed to be based on TSMC’s 4nm manufacturing process and the company has already started testing it with the help of its hardware partners.

If the testing is successful, we should see the first Dimensity 2000-powered handsets by early next year.

The new chipset will be based on ARM V9 architecture along with the new Cortex-X2 core.

Its performance could be much similar to Qualcomm’s top-tier SoC for 2022.
