The most expensive Gyrfalcon was sold on Saudi Falcons Club Grounds, which was the last day of the International Falcon Breeders Auction, a statement said.

The IFBA was organised by the Saudi Falcons Club (SFC) in Malham, North of Riyadh. The elite falcon was sold to a fortunate falconer for the grand price of $466,667 (1,750,000 Saudi riyals).

The elite falcon is an Ultra White Farkh Gyr Qarmousha Falcon from the premier American falcon breeding farm, Pacific Northwest Falcons. The falcon is 16.5 inches long and 16.5 inches wide, and weighed approximately 980 grams.

The competitive bidding, which was broadcasted live on television and social media platforms, lasted for quite a while. The bidders competed over this falcon due to its rarity in the world, as well as being the first of its kind to be offered in an international auction.

IFBA started on August 5, 2021, and broke record sales. One of them was the sale of a rare Beauty-Contest falcon for the amount of $66,676 (350,000 Saudi riyals). The Falcon Breeding Farms from 14 different countries participated in the IFBA, and exhibited some of the most elite falcons, which resulted in large attendance from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and regional falconers
