Following the two consecutive disruptions, Instagram recently made an announcement on notifying its users about impending outages caused by technical issues, on the application directly.

The photo sharing app’s blog post stated that the feature is being tested in the United States as of now; the application will make a bigger move once the test turns out successful.

According to the website status platform, Downdetector, users all across the world faced issues accessing Facebook, Instagram and Messenger due to the 6-hour disruption.

Apart from dealing with the memes and trolls regarding outages on Twitter, the social media market leader is already fighting for its reputation as it earlier drew intense flak when a former employee, Haugen made an accusation following the company’s internal research that Instagram is harmful and unsafe for teen girls.
