Pakistan’s batting sensation Babar Azam turns 27

The number one ODI batsman and Pakistan’s all-format skipper Babar Azam was showered with love and admiration on his 27th birthday on Friday.

Babar was born in Lahore on October 15. He was first recognized by the fans during the Under-19 World Cup for his outstanding performance.

He was the highest run-scorer during the 2010 and 2012 U-19 World Cups.

After that at the age of 22, Babar became popular after he scored three consecutive ODI centuries against West Indies in UAE.

“We didn’t have to guide him, he was on his own, but we were supportive all the way,” said his cousin, Kamran Akmal, in an earlier interview.

Babar is currently the fastest player to reach 2,000 runs, breaking Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s record. He is also the fastest player to reach 7,000 T20 runs leaving behind Univer Boss Chris Gayle.

Opening batsman Abid Ali also wished the skipper birthday.
