Microsoft, in a recent blog post claims, Russia-owned agency is targeting hundreds of US companies after last year’s Solarwind cyberattack.

The blog post further says that the new target of the Russian agency are resellers and tech providers. It also said that the attack had been part of a large scale campaign during summers, meanwhile the multinational tech corporation announced the news to its users that they had been attacked.

Microsoft told New York Times that only a few attempts of attacks were successful this time. However, no further details were provided on the recent attack.

“This recent activity is another indicator that Russia is trying to gain long-term, systematic access to a variety of points in the technology supply chain and establish a mechanism for surveilling – now or in the future – targets of interest to the Russian government,” wrote Tom Burt, the vice president for cyber security at Microsoft.
