‘Battle hardened’ Pakistan Army ready to ‘defend motherland at all costs’: Gen Bajwa

LAHORE: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa remarked on Tuesday that the “battle hardened” Pakistan Army is ready to “defend the motherland at all costs”.

“We are a battle hardened army that has rendered innumerable sacrifices in the line of duty and are ready to defend our motherland at all costs,” said Gen Bajwa while meeting the forward troops in Bedian.

During the visit, the army chief was briefed by the local formation commander of the situation. He also expressed satisfaction over the high standard of operational readiness and morale of troops. The COAS was accompanied by Commander Lahore Corps Lieutenant General Muhammad Abdul Aziz.

Earlier, Gen Bajwa had visited the headquarters of the Lahore Corps where he was given a detailed briefing on operational preparedness. COAS appreciated the corps operational preparedness and measures taken by the army against the coronavirus pandemic.

Later, he also visited the Lahore Medical College (LMC) where Gen Bajwa laid the foundation stone of the School of Allied Health Sciences (SAHS).

“LMC has emerged as a leading college in Pakistan and is playing a pivotal role in producing Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) & BS (Honors) Medical Imaging Technology (MIT) of the highest caliber,” said Gen Bajwa while interacting with the students and faculty.

The army chief emphasised the youth to strive for excellence and optimally contribute for their country and service to humanity.
