KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee declined 1.12 rupees against the dollar at midday in the interbank exchange market on Friday as the dollar reached a historic high.

Dollar is being traded at the historic high of Rs176.10 at midday in the interbank market.

The exchange closed at Rs174.98 Thursday, November 25, 2021.

Dealers said that the local currency is losing value against the foreign currency as the import bill is rising with current account deficit also driving rupee on a downward trajectory.

The previous highest level of  dollar of Rs175.73 was recorded on November 12,2021.
