ISLAMABAD: The government is focusing on the completion of the privatisation programme in the stipulated time, an official said.

Chairing a meeting of the Privatisation Board, Federal Minister for Privatisation Muhamamdmian Soomro said that the issues regarding the privatisation of the state-owned entities were being jointly resolved by various departments and divisions.

The board recommended sending the procedure of fixing the reserve price of the Heavy Electrical Complex to the Cabinet Committee on Privatisation, he said.

The proposed procedure for fixing the reserve price is part of the Privatisation Commission’s valuation of properties rules 2007.

The board also approved the appointment of a financial adviser for the privatisation of the government-owned properties.

The meeting was informed that the matters relating to the privatisation of 20 per cent shares of Pak Re-insurance were under observation in the Ministry of Commerce and other related departments.
