Man dies after consuming toxic wine in Hafizabad

DEPALPUR: A man expired and health condition of three other men was critical after consuming toxic wine in Qila Deva Singh area of Depalpur, Bol news channel reported on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Sher Muhammed. The other three men were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for medical assistance.

Deputy Superintendent Police Shabbir Warraich said a crackdown had been launched against those selling toxic wine.

On the other hand, a youth died after drowning in Manghopir canal in Karachi, said the rescue sources. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital on Sunday for medico-legal formalities.

On November 19, a man had killed his maternal uncle and aunty over refusing his marriage proposal for their daughter in Sargodha.

Because of dispute over domestic issues with his family, the victim Riaz refused marriage proposal of his nephew Adeel. Following which, the suspect armed with a weapon entered his house and started quarrelling.

Younger brother of Riaz, Mukhtar, who had arrived a day ago from abroad, and wife of Riaz’s elder brother Rubina had tried to protect the victims, but Adeel had opened indiscriminate fire leaving Riaz and his wife dead.
