The Men in Green will look to continue their T20 World Cup form against Bangladesh as both nations will lock horns in their first match of the three-match T20I series today at Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.

The match is set to begin at 01:00 pm PST.

Prior to the match, both sides held a joint training session.

Earlier this week, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the final 12-member squad for the first match.

Babar Azam will be at the front leading the team with the assistance of vice-captain Shadab Khan. There have been no changes to the line-up since the T20 World Cup, where they won all five matches at the Super12 stage.

Babar and Co. swept through the Super12 stage of the ICC Twenty20 World Cup in the UAE, claiming all five victories before they lost to Australia by 5 wickets in the semifinal.

With Mohammad Hafeez voluntarily opting out of the series, right-arm off-break bowler Iftikhar Ahmed was called to the squad.

The Tigers are missing several experienced players who have been ruled out either injury or rested after the T20 World Cup.

Skipper Mahmudullah said that they are losing for a fresh start after a poor performance in the World Cup. “Whatever happened happened. If we think much about it that would affect us negatively. We want to think positive,” he said.

For the first time since March 2020, the gates will be opened for the fans.

Pakistan will also play two Test matches, which will be part of the ICC World Test Championship.
