One million people registered for Ehsaas Rashan Programme: Sania Nishtar

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation Dr Sania Nishtar has said that more than one million people have registered successfully for Ehsaas Rashan Riayat Programme so far.

“As many as 40 million people have submitted their data in the portal since the start of the registration process,” she said talking to media during a visit to Hassan Abdal.

Dr Sania said an individual of the household can get registered under this programme and monthly subsidy of Rs1,000 would be given to each family.

“Those who have earning of less than Rs50,000 a month could get benefit from this programme, whether they are grocery shop owners or they have travelled abroad. All the members of a household can get themselves registered. They must have their mobile SIM card registered with their CNIC numbers,” she said.

The PM’s aide said the Ehsaas Rashan Riayat Programme was being introduced through collaboration of the federal and provincial governments.

She said the government realised about people’s fury because of inflation after the coronavirus pandemic.

According to a local media report on November 8, Pakistan’s inflation witnessed a 100 per cent increase in three years of the present government with essential items and food prices becoming dearer for the common man. Not only prices of food items but the tariffs of all utilities have jacked up to an unaffordable ratio.
