Police arrest 32 suspects in Hafizabad

HAFIZABAD: Elite Police Force of Hafizabad arrested at least 32 suspects during an operation against criminals in Hafizabad Circle and Pindi Circle areas on Saturday night.

The suspects were allegedly involved in different crimes. District police officer Bilal Zafar Sheikh said huge quantity of weapons, drugs and wines were recovered from their possession. Bilal Zafar said strict crackdown was being carried out against criminal elements.

Police will conduct interrogation from the arrested suspects to find out their other accomplices, aiders and abettors.

On November 20, police had arrested a group of drug peddlers who took orders on phone calls in Karachi.

Police had said the suspects would deliver drugs in a rickshaw pretending to be going to drop passengers at a destination. Police had carried out a raid on a tip-off and arrested three suspects, including the rickshaw driver, from the Sharafi Goth area.

More than four kilogramme black hash, ice and zar farokhtagi were recovered from their possession. Police had also obtained criminal records of the suspects. They had said the suspects were professional drug peddlers and had been jailed multiple times. One of the arrested suspects, Zahid was nominated in more than eight cases related to drugs in different police stations.
