The Rolling Stones video was created in partnership with Boston Dynamics, a robotics firm, to honor the 40th anniversary of the band’s album “Tattoo You.

Who’d have guessed that ‘The Rolling Stones’ hit song “Start Me Up” from 1981 would be redone with a robotic twist in 2021? Fans of the English rock band were ecstatic when a video of a robot imitating Mick Jagger’s legendary gestures in the music video appeared on social media.

“40 years ago, The Rolling Stones debuted their iconic Tattoo You album. We’re helping them celebrate. ‘Start Me Up’ taken from Tattoo You 2021,” read the title of the 1.24-minute video, which featured the robot ‘Spot’ imitating Mick Jagger, the band’s main vocalist, and founding member. Surprisingly, the robot lip-synced to the music.

It didn’t take long for the video to become viral and be inundated with comments from internet users who enjoyed the creation.

One user said in response to the popular video, “Thank you Boston Dynamics! You made a grown (old) woman cry!! This was absolutely heart-touching! In this crazy world, we have today, you brought my past good memories with your today’s amazing technology. Beautiful! Damm, I’m still crying and smiling big!”
